SILVER ROPE 3-STRAND

Silver Rope is a durable 3-strand polyolefin rope, made from polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), or a blend.

Lightweight and buoyant, it floats on water, resists rot, mildew and most chemicals, and is easy to splice. With moderate tensile strength, ~15–20% elongation at break and UV-stabilised options, it’s ideal for marine, fishing, aquaculture, towing and general utility use. Conforms to AS 4142.2–1993 and ISO standards. We’re a leading Silver Rope supplier Australia.

Applications

  • 3-strand hawser-laid PP/PE construction: Strong, flexible and easy to splice.
  • Floats with zero water absorption: Specific gravity ~0.91–0.95.
  • Resistant to rot, mildew and most chemicals.
  • Moderate strength and shock absorption: (~15–20% elongation).
  • UV-stabilised variants: For improved outdoor durability.
  • Melting point 130–165 °C: Avoid friction heat damage.
  • Common in: Mooring lines, dock lines, fishing ropes, towing and tie-downs.
